Patti and LaVell Edwards Honored with Wooden Coaching Achievement Award

BOISE, Idaho – Brigham Young University coaching legend LaVell Edwards and his wife Patti have been awarded the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame’s Nell and John Wooden Coaching Achievement Award.
The Edwards will be presented with the award, Wednesday, April 11 on the Boise State University campus at the Hall’s “Night With LaVell Edwards” event presented by PetersonToyota.
“Patti and LaVell Edwards are role models to coaches everywhere,” said Myron Finkbeiner, Founder of the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame. “The Edwards’ commitment to their players futures is an honor to their university, their university community, and athletes and sports fans everywhere who have watched a LaVell Edwards-coached game.”
World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame
The World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and organizations from the world of amateur and professional athletics who, through their humanitarian efforts, distinguish themselves as role models in the community. More than 40 sports-humanitarians have been enshrined in Boise, including tennis great Arthur Ashe, Major League Baseball pioneer Jackie Robinson, NFL coaching legend Tom Landry, the NBA's David Robinson, soccer great Pelé and the Harlem Globetrotters.
