About our judges

NOMINATE A COACH HERE

USA WEEKEND Most Caring Youth Coach in partnership with the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame is a yearly award in which thousands of coaches are nominated by readers in honor of the outstanding mentoring of our nation’s youth.

Founded by USA WEEKEND Magazine in 1992, the Most Caring Youth Coach award honors men and women who help kids excel on and off the field.

Each year, USA WEEKEND readers nominate hundreds of candidates from which three winners are picked by a distinguished panel of professional and collegiate coaches.

The recognition program is open to all amateur coaches who work with school or community recreation programs.

Three winners are featured in the magazine’s Annual Most Caring Youth Coach Awards Issue and recognized at the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame’s annual induction ceremonies in Boise, Idaho. Each winner receives $1,000 for his or her team or favorite charity.

The editorial portion consists of four to five features in the magazine, where prominent athletes recall their own mentors during their formative years. The final editorial piece consists of profiles of the new winners in the annual awards issue.
